Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Supply Chain Managers are responsible for the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. They ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at the established levels. They coordinate and integrate the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain. Resources are focused on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through production processes, and the establishment of key performance metrics and benchmarks to monitor actual performance against goals.

Responsibilities
To provide leadership to the purchasing/procurement team and the warehouse. The position is responsible for allaspects of plant material usage. This includes procurement, purchasing, warehousing and associated transactingin the most business effective manner. Key KPIs are Inventory turns, Ship to Request and Ship to Schedule andMaterial Productivity.
Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning andquality control of production materials, including overseeing the annual stock take and annual re-cost process.Responsible for meeting annual material productivity (cost down) targets. Establishes key performance metricsand benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on aregular basis.
Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, to meet the production schedule, and the maintenance ofinventory at minimum acceptable levels. Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials. Coordinates andintegrates the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers.Identifies and recommends opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supplychain.
Responsible for material compliance with environmental and social legislations such as RoHS, REACH andConflict Minerals.
As this role has a reporting relationship with managers in differing time zones there will be some out of normalhours work required to attend overseas phone calls
Manage and lead the purchasing team
Manages Christchurch Purchasing Department to optimise material flow and inventory levels to fully supportmanufacturing to meet Ship to Request and Ship to Schedule metrics.
Manage and lead the procurement function
Manages Christchurch procurement function to fully support engineering to meet quote turnaround times.
Manage and lead the Warehouse team
Manages the Warehouse team to ensure accurate and timely storage of materials, timely material flow to the shopfloor and inwards and outwards goods transacting.
Continual Improvement (TEOA)
Lead Continual improvement (Kaizen) activities for purchasing and Warehouse functions. Contribute to, andsupport Kaizens from other departments.
Supplier Management
Analyse supplier performance and work with suppliers to ensure acceptable levels

 

Qualifications
Five years experience in managing purchasing and warehouse functions in a manufacturing environment.
In-depth MRP experience
SAP experience desirable
APICS and /or formal tertiary qualification desirable
