MGR I MATERIALS PLANNING

Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

Position Overview :
This individual manages all activities pertaining to procurement and coordination of all raw materials and components essential to manufacturing operations by taking into consideration elements of cost, quality, quantity and delivery of materials.  Establishes purchasing parameters with buyers in the department and coordinates scheduled delivery with manufacturing priorities. 


Responsibilities:
•    Manages team of procurement professionals obtaining raw materials and components essential to manufacturing schedules.
•    Enforces company safety policies and procedures.
•    Articulates scheduling, cost and vendor quality to buyers within the department.  Provides cost analysis and actively supports cost reductions and value improvements.  
•    Articulates scheduling constraints and lead times required to process orders and ensure delivery of materials.  
•    Audits requisitions and purchase orders to insure correct and sufficient nomenclature, data and approvals. 
•    Ensure optimal inventory levels are established in support of production and the overall operation.
•    Collaborates with departments to secure quotations, samples, delivery time, engineering information or development of engineering specifications. Determines acceptable substitute materials and their effect on cost. 
•    Oversees the activities of buyers to ensure supply and coordination of schedule requirements and system information. 
•    Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
•    Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
•    Actively pursue cost savings opportunities for direct material in the region by working with plant personnel, engineering and strategic sourcing teams.
•    Work with quality team to disposition rejected materials and communicates appropriate charges that are passed to vendors.
•    Consolidates parts and standardizes requirements with Engineering. 
•    Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or Supply Chain
•    Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain or Purchasing area, (experience as Manager preferred)
•    Master Scheduling, Planning and/or Production Control Experience 
•    SAP experience
•    APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
•    Personnel management
•    Experience in manufacturing industry
•    Advanced English
