EH & S ANALYST III
Job Overview
As part of the Global Facilities and Construction Management (GF&CM) team based in Hermosillo Mexico, you will be joining a team of professionals who are passionate about ensuring the future growth of the business while maintaining integrity, taking accountability, working safely together and continually improving to ensure constant innovation and openness to change.
Reporting to the GF&CM environmental, health and safety (EHS) manger, you will provide environmental, health and safety guidance to our facilities and construction management teams located in Hermosillo, Mexico. TE Connectivity's EHS teams ensure and monitor safety in the workplace. This includes the application and communication of health, safety and hazardous material standards, procedures, and practices consistent with TE’s policies as well as safety and environmental regulations.
Job Requirements
- Conduct formal and systematic reviews of facilities operations and activities to determine applicability of federal, state, local and TE Connectivity environment, health and safety regulations and requirements, including the TE EHS management system
- Ensure continued compliance with applicable Mexican EHS regulations and TE EHS policy requirements.
- Facilitate and monitor internal and external inspections, audits and self-assessments; Address root causes and seek closure to EHS audit findings
- Engage members of the Facilities & construction management team to implement and sustain EHS management systems
- Evaluate the applicability of, and prepare internal and external EHS regulatory reports, while working with the other business unit EHS teams onsite.
- Regularly monitor and report leading and lagging EHS key performance indicators
- Track on time completion of all EHS metrics by the Hermosillo Facilities & Construction Management team
- Facilitate risk assessments related to tasks performed (Job Hazard Analysis, Machine Guarding, Ergonomics, PPE, Non-routine work, etc.), new equipment introductions, and process changes to recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures
- Facilitate root cause investigations for injuries, environmental incidents, Significant Injury and Fatality potential incidents, near misses, unsafe acts or conditions and enter the incidents and corrective actions into the EHS management system.
- Evaluate incidents, behavior-based safety (BBS), GEMBA, and near miss data for trends and introduce, for management consideration, recommendations for new policies and practices
- Develop and conduct EHS training to include safety, occupational health, and sustainability best practices, fostering safety culture in the organization.
- Verification in the management or administration of contractors in the different BUs (compliance in training, certifications, required documentation, monitoring and quantification of health and safety incidents.
What your background should look like
- Advanced degree, preferably in occupational health & safety, industrial hygiene, or Environmental Science. Professional certifications a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of EH&S experience required, preferably in a manufacturing facility, EHS consulting or Facilities
- Proficient in safety related topics such as Lockout Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, working at heights, ergonomics, material handling, welding and hot work, electrical installations, risk assessments and emergency action plans and emergency preparedness and incident investigation.
- Background in a fast-paced environment, simultaneously working on multiple projects that may involve multiple stakeholders
- Strong knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety rules and regulations
- Strong demonstrated communication, influencing, collaboration and team-building skills preferred with the ability to develop multiple solutions to an issue and make valid recommendations for resolution
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 1-2 times per year
