Job Overview
A fantastic opportunity to join the TE supply chain team. As a team, we enjoy monthly team lunches and breakfasts on site and hold sociable team outings outside of work. Joining a dynamic team of buyers and planners, you will take full ownership and responsibility for all NPI purchasing for the Hastings site assisting supply chain and the project management team. Including other ad-hoc requirements you will be the main point of contact for all elements that fall within the role.
Job Requirements
- Raising initial purchase orders for new parts requesting FAIR’s and ensuring MRP information is updated to reflect correct lead times for follow up orders
- Orderbook & maintaining the critical path management for all orders PO’s & production orders, to be the point of contact for queries from Project & Product managers
- Dealing with suppliers, obtaining RFQ’s and working closely with the sourcing team, procurement and finance teams
- Review subcontract plating requirements and drawing data with engineering
- Working closely with the planning team & engineering to understand their departments and any issues that may arise.
- Attend customer calls & internal project calls on behalf of the department providing feedback to the team
- Management of suppliers and orderbook, building excellent supplier relationships.
- Escalation of any issues to purchasing supervisor / relevant sourcing analyst.
- Must be able to prioritise and manage workload in line with demanding business requirements, achieving expedited turnarounds with suppliers when required.
- Master data management – update and maintain master data for responsible items, MOQ’s, price breaks, safety stocks
- Managing & reporting KPI targets – delivery on time, confirmation of purchase orders
- Invoice processing, resolving blocked invoices & amendments of purchase orders
- MRP Exception management
What your background should look like
- Minimum 5 years in a similar position within supply chain or purchasing
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Proven experience working with cross functional teams
- Strong IT skills including excel, MRP systems, SAP would be advantageous
- Previous NPI / Project experience would be advantageous
- Experience in continuous improvement
- Proactive, strong attention to detail and good communication skills
