Operations Manager
Job Overview
Manages the day-to-day operations and long term planning for manufacturing functions, including manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, purchasing and shipping/receiving activities.
Your new role:
- 
Maintain and continuously improve workplace safety by implementing global safety policies and actively engaging local teams.
 - 
Oversee and drive the operational performance of the Hastings Manufacturing site.
 - 
Develop, mentor, and support Operational Managers, Supervisors and Value Stream Leaders to achieve site objectives.
 - 
Partner with indirect support teams and key stakeholders to deliver both short-term performance targets and long-term strategic goals.
 - 
Own and cascade accountability for key performance metrics including:
- 
Safety
 - 
Quality (CoPQ)
 - 
On-time Delivery
 - 
Productivity
 - 
Inventory
 - 
Output
 - 
Employee Engagement
 
 - 
 - 
Utilize available tools and methodologies (e.g., TEOA) to deliver continuous improvement and foster engagement in Kaizen events and other productivity initiatives across production areas.
 - 
Collaborate with the Financial Controller to make informed operational decisions guided by the site’s P&L performance.
 - 
Act as the Plant Manager when required, providing leadership and operational continuity during periods of absence (holiday cover).
 - Driving the execution of operations activities, ensuring that schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.
 
Your ideal background:
- 
Strong understanding of supply chain processes and their impact on operational performance
 - 
Proven experience leading and developing managers and supervisors to drive team engagement and accountability
 - 
Demonstrated ability to lead structured problem-solving activities to resolve production and operational issues efficiently
 - 
Experience managing and developing relationships with external customers to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnerships
 - 
Track record of developing and implementing strategies to achieve key business objectives
 - 
Experience driving and managing organisational change initiative
