Job Requirements
- Support daily operations of the Machine Shop to meet KPIs.
- Complete internal DQIP and FAI reports accurately and on time.
- Conduct roaming inspections to verify component compliance.
- Assist in product failure investigations, providing measurement data.
- Program, operate, and optimize contact and non-contact measuring equipment.
- Identify best practices for measuring components.
- Prepare inspection reports and interpret results.
- Maintain quality documentation in a neat and methodical manner.
- Carry out inspections in line with company procedures and BS308 drawings.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company standards.
- Liaise with other departments and support the Quality Supervisor as required.
What your background should look like
Education:
- Good general education to GCSE level.
- Mechanical Engineering or similar technical qualification preferred.
Experience:
- Proficient in using computer systems.
- Skilled in mechanical measurement techniques.
- Experience operating and programming contact and non-contact measuring equipment.
- Previous experience in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing role preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and team-working skills.
- Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day demands.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Familiarity with mechanical measurement techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret BS308 drawings and dimensional requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Strong reliability and accuracy under pressure.
