Job Overview


The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment (Industrial Solutions) and is a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and rigorous environments.


Hastings is a core manufacturing site which takes raw materials and processes the final the final product all on site.  


Within this manufacturing site we have an Assembly Production facility which requires a Manufacturing Engineer to Carry out a wide range of assignments to improve the efficiency, quality and repeatability of the area.

The successful candidate will create supporting documentation and provide training to ensure successful implementation, support the achievement of daily business goals and progress long term technical & cost reduction projects and assist with the manufacture of NPI jobs when required whilst providing technical support in trouble-shooting production problems.

Job Responsibilities

•    Main responsibility is to complete sustain activities to support production within the assembly departments.  
•    Use technical expertise to define, document and provide training for current best practice, ensuring cost effective, repeatable and high quality practices are used for both existing production and New Product Introductions (NPI).
•    Support production areas to achieve their KPI’s by attending daily meetings and providing technical solutions to challenges as they arrise.
•    Enable the smooth integration of new products into production by documenting tooling, work holding and gauging requirements in routings and specifications.
•    Ensure costs are captures and calculated correctly by maintaining the integrity of routed times, work centres and costed batch sizes in SAP.
•    To work with the NPI team to deliver new to market products that are right first time and use best practice.  To drive the appropriate level of mental effort in the early stages of projects to complete the APQP/PPAP process as required including but not limited to FMEA’s, process flows and design for manufacture.
•    Keep well-informed of technical developments and review manufacturing methods.

What your background should look like:


We would like you to hold recent experience working in a similar environment with at least a HNC or QBE.


We would also like you to hold all or some of the following:

•    The ability to programme, run and trouble shoot production problems on automated and semi-automated equipment as well as manual processes.
•    Experience ensuring quality and lessons learned with flow diagrams, PFMEA’s, control plans and quality inspection plans.
•    Identifies and recommends new or improved manufacturing processes and technical developments.
