Job Overview


The Head of Supply Chain is responsible for defining and implementing strategic and operational plans across Purchasing, Production Planning, Warehousing & Logistics, ensuring the functional performance supports and delivers in line with the overall business objectives.  As well as functional responsibilities, the job holder will be responsible for managing the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning for the Hastings site. 


Tasks Summary and Responsibilities
    Define and implement the Operational Planning strategy in respect of customer sales orders and forecasts; 
    Plan and control inventory levels to support overall sales strategy and in line with budget; 
    Support and drive cross-functional departments to expected business meet on time delivery; 
    Provide regular machine and labour load detail based on SI&OP assumptions and in support of value stream on time delivery targets; 
    Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities; 
    Oversee and work towards improvement of load management;
    Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
    Implement a customer focussed operational culture; 

What your background should look like:


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 

•    Experience managing a Supply Chain function in a high-volume manufacturing environment
•    Ability to think strategically whilst managing the day to day demands 
•    Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level


Essential Knowledge and Skills    
•    Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development 
•    Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders 
•    Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills 
•    Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines 
•    Commercially and financially astute 
•    Broad and in-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques, 8D, 5S, Cell Design and quick change over.
•    ERP system experience required, strong knowledge of excel 
•    Previous experience maintaining an MRP system.
