Manager IT Infrastructure

Job Overview

This position is responsible for managing a portion of the global team supporting the enterprise network infrastructure.  This includes technologies related to WAN, LAN, WIFI, Firewalls, VOIP/SIP, Load-balancers, IPAM/DNS, Data Center Networking, Proxy, Telecom circuits, and Cloud initiatives.  Key responsibilities are the day to day leadership, support, planning, implementation and standardization across the global organization.  Candidates for this role will have responsibility for a large globally dispersed team supporting a diverse infrastructure

Position can be remote to other business unit locations in the US.

Dimensions
•    Environment; TE’s global network, network security, and voice team supports 75,000+ TE users at over 400 locations in 50+ countries utilizing 1,000+ applications.  Network, Net-Sec, and Voice devices are located in all TE sites as well as primary data center hubs in US, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, China and Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

-    Manages the global team responsible for all network technology hardware, operating systems, and configurations related to said infrastructure.
-    Participates in and often owns priority issues, managing them from onset through resolution to RCA by working with the major incident management team.
-    Delivers strategic planning and roadmap development for network-based technologies for including upgrade planning, tool sets and management platforms.
-    Must have familiarity with key TE standard network platforms –Cisco, Nexus, Aruba, Checkpoint, Citrix ADC, Bluecat, Zscaler.  Additional knowledge in automation/scripting a plus.
-    Strong understanding of global enterprise networking and support.
-    Working knowledge of all aspects of IT (PC, Servers, Storage, application architecture, etc.)
-    Drives innovation, research, evaluation and selection of new technologies to support the network footprint with our internal infrastructure solutions teams.
-    Promotes standardization, configurations and processes with automation in mind.
-    Suggests, implements and manages tool sets.
-    Implements best practices to ensure the overall integrity of network infrastructure.
-    Drives cost efficiencies across network infrastructure.
-    Manages vendor relationships with all vendors/VARs related to network infrastructure.
-    Ensure all projects with network components are delivered on time and within budget
-    Provides oversight and architectural support for HA/disaster recovery planning and execution
-    Collaborates across all global TE IT teams in architecture and solutioning.
-    Responsible for developing, overseeing, and controlling the network fiscal operating and capital expenditures
-    Responsible for staffing and annual performance evaluations.
-    Responsible for related contracts through collaborating with Procurement and Contract Management teams
-    Provides training opportunity and mentorship to other professional employees

- GGenerally, requires bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of leadership experience.
