TECHNICIAN IV - MACHINING

Job Overview

 

TE Connectivity’s Technician works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to produce functional back shell samples and prototypes. Their work includes: assignment planning, layout, tooling, programming, and troubleshooting CNC Lathes and other support equipment. They support the assembly and laser welding various components produced on the CNC lathe. Every team member is responsible for maintain housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity’s EH&S policies and procedures. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Applies advanced job skills in area of specialization to program CNC machining equipment
  • Operate CMM’s and digital inspection equipment
  • Regularly adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet print specifications
  • Work with team to trouble shoot operations and/or flow issues
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards, and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Communicating directly with engineers and the sales team to produce samples as quickly as possible.
  • Work safely with small hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Provides guidance and training to others

What your background should look like:

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Read, interpret and follow blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
  • Ability to read and understand G and M code programming
  • Experience and efficiency in Esprit or similar programming software
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions, with a high attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work overtime to meet company demands
  • Ability to work in a team environment and confined space
  • Problem-solving skills 
  • Associates degree from a trade school and/or job-related vocational training
  • 5-10+ years, relevant work experience
  • Due to ITAR restrictions, US Citizenship or US Lawful Permanent Residency is required for this position

 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
