Job Overview
As a Product Engineer (PE), you will be responsible to manage, optimize and improve the value stream of sensor products serving the Transportation, Medical, Industrial and AD&M markets.
In product development, the PE will collaborate with the project team to ensure alignment in value creation and will share lessons learned from serial production.
PE will have to interact globally with CoE (Center of Excellence) and NPI Regional R&D teams, as well as cross-functional teams to bring input to the project team.
In post-production phase, PE will work with cross-functional teams to determine based on product cost structure areas of improvement when standard margin does not meet targets. PE will collaborate with Product Managers to perform product portfolio rationalization.
PE will own and drive post-launch performance of a value stream including cost, quality, yields and cost of poor quality (CoPQ).
Job Requirements
This role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate complex commercial and operational challenges to drive margin improvement and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate would be a former Manufacturing or Process or Product Development Engineer, project lead or professional operations manager for Sensor’s market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Launch (Product Engineering of New Product Introductions):
Partner with New Product Development (R&D) and Project Management and bring the lessons learned (from the similar products, serial production) into new product development to optimize the new design
Post Launch (Sustaining Product Engineering):
Achieve cost entitlement and cost savings at all stages of the product lifecycle
Have a clear understanding of real product cost structure and standard margin to define and drive actions to recover when needed.
Value-add/ Value-Engineering (VA/VE) enablement of Gross Margin Expansion (GME) by product line.
Lead VAVE / cost reduction projects.
Chair post launch changes to product & process (via a change control board) according to the procedure of change management.
Support lifecycle management in liaison with Product Management.
What your background should look like
Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline (Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical, Process/Manufacturing)
5+ years of sensor product and/or process experience
And/Or Experience in sensor product development to achieve product requirements and cost targets.
Experience with 8D and other basic problem-solving skills.
Experience in maintaining products after SOP (including performing cost analysis and identification of elements to improve cost and cost structure. (e.g. cycle time, capacity, scrap).
Fluency in English
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with leadership, stakeholders, cross functional teams (engineering, product management, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, finance, sales) and subject matter experts.
Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel as required, ~10%.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $125,800 -$ 188,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
