Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to support the development and administration of environmental, health, and safety programs at our facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the EHS field in a flexible, part-time capacity. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and administering EHS policies and procedures(e.g., Job Hazard Analysis, ergonomics, waste management). 
  • Maintain safety equipment inventories and assist in conducting lab/oƯice safety, inspections, audits, and environmental impact assessments. 
  • Support incident and accident investigations, including preparing reports and tracking safety statistics. 

 

Location: Hampton, VA (100% On-Site) 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (Flexible within this window) 
Hours: 15–20 hours/week to start; hours may increase during the summer based on availability 
Duration: 6-month assignment with potential for extension based on workload

What your background should look like:

•    High school diploma or equivalent required. 
•    Some related vocational training or coursework in environmental science, safety, or related field preferred. 
•    Familiarity with basic EHS principles and willingness to learn and follow established policies and procedures. 
•    Strong communication and organizational skills. 
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
•    The role offers flexible scheduling within standard weekday hours, ideal for students or individuals looking to gain practical experience in the EHS field.

 

Requirement: Student must be a US “person” and able to provide one of the following: birth certificate, social security card, passport, military ID, or green card.

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $33,800 – $50,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
