Senior Quality Engineer

Job Overview

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you are responsible for; 

 

  • Providing service/support on all possible Quality related aspects to the Customer and the internal stakeholders
  • Review quality part of Customer contracts: assess customer specific quality requirements on products, processes and service (typically PPM targets, complaint processing times, FAI requirements, Q-Certification requirements). 
  • Periodic evaluation of TE Customer quality performance: focus on number of Customer complaints, PPM level, complaint response times, quality of 8D reports.
  • Prepare for and participate in regular Customer scorecard reviews. This may include developing or contributing to a TE response.
  • Regular visits on Customer plants to build, reinforce and maintain strong partnership, and to exchange on key quality topics.
  • Create and maintain Customer Specific Quality Improvement plans with a focus on systematic, interactional and high-level issues. 
  • Prepare Customer audits by supporting the local organization regarding the Customer quality requirements and expectations. When necessary (e.g. on escalated quality issues) meet with Customer at manufacturing locations to facilitate the audit.
  • Monitor quality investigations and step in to facilitate if escalated by the Customer. Provide Customer expectations and application details for the complaint investigation when needed.
  • Stimulate / support the usage of Problem solving tools and preventative Quality tools (e.g. 5Why, FMEA, Pareto-chart, Cause-and-Effect diagram, Six sigma, etc.).

What your background should look like:
  • BS degree in Engineering from an accredited university - Masters in Engineering or MBA preferred
  • Certified in IATF- 16949
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or advanced knowledge and use of Shainin tools preferred
  • Spanish language
  • Good working knowledge of automotive control systems
  • Good working knowledge of Digital Factory Systems
