Shipper / Receiver Team Lead

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Shipping & Receiving Teams perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties. They use computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting incoming and outgoing shipments. They follow shipping practices and procedures, transportation routing, schedules and requirements. The Shipping & Receiving Teams receive incoming materials and prepare materials for shipment. They process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. They also route merchandise to destinations.

 

 Responsibilities:
•    Be a part of planning and creating a new business model inside of TE Connectivity’s NCDC
•    Once started, manage finished good receiving and shipping in a new operation: LADD break pack operations
•    Manage a small kitting operation
•    Customer focused: Work with the business units and customer service on daily items
•    Facilitate WMS transactions – MOVE is the primary system with SAP as a secondary

  • Clear MOVE / SAP Failures and close the doors in Webship and in SAP

•    Communicating with other leads and management on issues concerning on-time close out 
•    Manage the documentation retention and conformity 
•    Drive daily continuous improvement actions that drive the two main KPI’s (Ship to Request, Close out Time, and Throughput)


Daily Expectations:
•    50% Managing the flow of work / Make sure orders are being processed on time
•    25% Working management to continuously improve and grow as a professional
•    25% Coaching and working with your team to grow their skillsets and be comfortable with change
•    Estimated Shift Time: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM 
 

What your background should look like:

•    High School Diploma / GED

  • 2 year or 4-year degree preferred in business or supply chain management 

•    Experienced in Distribution Center operations

  • Break pack or kitting experience is preferred
  • Customer service experience is preferred

•    Strong Change Agent – Looking to simplify and make daily adjustments
•    Self-motivated with the ability to help make decisions with minimal supervision
•    Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to analyze data and use critical thinking to reach logical conclusions and decisions; results oriented; relies on fact-based logic for decision-making

  • Can adequately use Microsoft Office Tools
