MANUFACTURING ENGINEER II

Job Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer II is a critical role needed to ensure high quality products are produced safely and efficiently. This role will mainly be dedicated to a specific product line located at the Pegg Road TE Greensboro facility which involves a continuous mold & assembly process. Eventually, this position will also have its focus split between GSO and & the ICT plant in Tullahoma, Tennessee with the purpose of stabilizing and improving productivity on other various products line (as required). This highly technical individual is responsible for utilizing their knowledge, skill, and experience to handle such tasks as:


•    Lead projects for Customer Focus Team in resolution of customer complaints, scrap issues, efficiency problems, rate improvements, process deviations and cost reduction projects.
•    Analyze ICT production equipment of any manufacturing process and make recommendations and repairs on equipment that will result in more efficient processes with less down time.
•    Work with industrial controls and automation experts for improvements
•    Participate in Product and Equipment design reviews for purpose of developing a robust product and manufacturing process.
•    Prepare and obtain quotes and materials needed for design builds and construction projects.
•    Work from verbal instructions, sketches, blueprints, machine manuals and worn or broken parts to determine enhancements
•    Lead design, development, and engineering on machine tools and fixtures and related items for plant improvement projects using machine design engineering principles and best practices.
•    Lead spare parts requirements and inventory levels.
•    Mentor and lead subordinate levels of engineering and technician staff
•    Present information and data in professional manner to upper management and customer levels as required.
•    Work in connection with the entire production team and support as necessary
•    Experience in supporting a Production Line migration/machine footprint transfers from one TE MFG site to another if required
•    Support the safety and quality culture

What your background should look like:

 Qualifications:
•    BS in Engineering or Manufacturing preferred. Equivalent combination of education and operational experience will be considered
•    Proficient in machine, tool, and fixture design using AutoCAD and/or Pro-E preferred.
•    Working knowledge of Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing tools (Green Belt Certification)
•    Individual must be a “Team Player” that can work in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities.
•    Project leadership experience, with strong organization and project management skills
•    Good interpersonal skills & demonstrated proficient ability to influence others that don’t report to you
•    Management and contemporary manufacturing/quality methods and systems
•    Lean, Six Sigma, TPS, or DMAIC experience is strongly desired.
•    Demonstrated motivational and leadership skills.
•    Minimum five years’ experience working with a manufacturing or engineering organization required
•    Experience with plastic injection molding is preferred but not required
•    Experience with robotics is preferred but not required
•    Must be proficient in the English language.
