Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Generation and scheduling of works orders received from customer services
  • Coordination of materials requirements from internal and external suppliers
  • Obtain supplier delivery schedules and analyse against current schedules
  • Maintain and manage open order book to reflect currrent expected schedule
  • Provide timely feedback to customer services on significant schedule changes and corrective actions
  • Assess and coordinate customer expedite requests and feedback to customer service as appropriate
  • Monitor supplier deliveries to ensure constant materials supply to production
  • Coordinate daily shipping schedules to logistics department
  • Daily reporting on key performance indicators to leadership team
  • Proactive indentification of lead time improvement opportunities to meet customer requested deliveries

Requirements

  • Previous experience in materials planning, production scheduling or projects coordination roles
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, Sage 200 desireable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office package, particularly MS Excel
  • Organisational skills
  • Strong team working skills to collaborate accross numerous departments
