Job Overview

Program, set up and operate various CNC (computer numerical control) lathe machines in order to fabricate products according to the customers’ specifications.

**CNC Certification or CNC Training & 5 Years hands on Experience Required!!**

Job Requirements

• Read and interpret blueprints and BOM to determine complex setup procedures, tooling, settings and sequences.
• Choose, align, and mount fixtures, tools, attachments, accessories or other materials to the machine.
• Program and edit multiple CNC lathe machines by entering commands so the machines perform the correct functions.
• Prepare and load materials onto the machine.
• Operate and monitor machine, check coolant and oil levels, fill as needed.
• Work closely with the Quality Control Department to conduct inspections during the production process and verify products meets specifications.
• Maintain productivity at levels that match or exceed production standards.
• Communicate with Production Cell Supervisor on all issues related to discrepancies on drawing or BOM.
• Work with Maintenance department on performing or scheduling routine maintenance.
• Follow safety rules and use safe procedures.
• Keep all tools and supplies put away in the appropriate location on a daily basis and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What your background should look like

• High School diploma or GED Preferred.
• Certification or additional CNC training is required.
• 5 years of hands-on experience operating and setting up CNC lathe machines
• Ability to read, understand and interpret complex blueprints, mechanical drawings and other written material.
• Knowledge of Fanuc controls are preferred.
• Full understanding of machining tools, drills, tap, bores, etc.
• Mechanical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Mathematically literate.
• Effectively communicate. Must be able to Read, Write and Speak English.
• Knowledge of various types of equipment and processes such as:

• Air and power tools
• Micrometers, calipers, rulers, tape measures and gages

• Ability to work independently and multi-task.

Physical Requirements:

• Continuous standing, moving and reaching with arms and hand.
• Frequently walks, bends, lifts and carries items.
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

• Work performed in a shop environment.
• Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, and odors.
