Job Overview

The Global Supplier Quality Lead is responsible for driving the strategic direction, performance, and continuous improvement of supplier quality across the Energy Business Unit, spanning the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. This role leads the Global Supplier Quality (SQ) function and ensures that the organization's supplier base consistently meets expectations for quality, delivery, cost, compliance, and operational excellence. In addition to being the global lead this position will also be the lead for the Americas Supplier Quality activities.

 

The position is accountable for developing and executing global strategies, actions, and performance metrics focused on improving the capability, reliability, and overall performance of direct material suppliers. A key emphasis is placed on enhancing Supplier Delivery, Quality, and Inventory performance, while building and strengthening partnerships with Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Operations, and Regional Quality teams.

 

The Global Supplier Quality Lead serves as the primary champion for supplier quality methodologies and tools, providing technical expertise and leadership across cross-functional initiatives. This role represents the SQ function in strategic planning forums, ensures alignment with global organizational priorities, and drives consistent execution of functional roadmaps worldwide.

This role will be located remotely, in the US.

Job Requirements

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Supplier Quality function across all regions of the Energy Business Unit.
  • Develop and deploy global supplier quality strategies, standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Lead the implementation of continuous improvement programs to enhance supplier performance in delivery, quality, and inventory management.
  • Aligning cross-functional teams on supplier compliance and audit-readiness activities, resolving systemic gaps.
  • Strengthen supplier development processes and oversee improvement initiatives for critical and strategic suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, and regional teams to ensure cohesive execution and alignment with business needs.
  • Drive global harmonization of SQ methodologies, measurement systems, and capability-building programs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for the application of advanced Supplier Quality tools, such as APQP, PPAP, SPC, PFMEA, and root-cause problem-solving methodologies.
  • Represent the supplier quality function in strategic planning discussions, business reviews, and cross-functional decision-making forums.
  • Manage all Supplier caused customer complaints. Complete problem-solving (8D), and chargeback processes.
  • Ensure global processes comply with organizational, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for regional Supplier Quality teams.
  • Reviewing and reporting on supplier quality performance metrics to senior management.
  • Support measurement correlation activities with suppliers when required. 

What your background should look like

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 10+ years+ experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role; candidiates without a degree but who have equivalent experiene will also be considered.
  • Proven experience working with quality management systems (QMS), including ISO9001, AS9000, IATF, or similar certifications. 
  • Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • 3+ years’ leadership experience must include Supplier Quality Manager expertise and demonstrated success in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, or related Quality/Operations leadership roles.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional and cross-regional stakeholders in a complex global environment.
  • Proven experience driving supplier improvement programs and achieving measurable performance gains.
  • Experience with APQP.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Ability to develop and implement quality strategies and initiatives. 
  • Expertise in data-driven decision-making and reporting. 
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, systems, and industry standards. 
  • Experience outside of Quality is a plus.
  • Experience working with suppliers globally is required. 
  • 25-50% travel required.
  • Ability to travel globally.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $134,200 - $201,300 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
