Digital Engineering and TEOA Engineering are strategic functions within TE Connectivity that drive innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence across engineering and product development.

  • Digital Engineering focuses on transforming engineering workflows through the adoption of advanced digital tools and data-driven methodologies. This includes initiatives such as Generative Design, TELme platform integration, AI-based modeling and training, and digital data governance. The function also explores and facilitates proof-of-concept (POC) activities for emerging tools, promoting their adoption through internal community engagement. These efforts enhance design quality, accelerate development cycles, and enable smarter decision-making across engineering teams.
  • TEOA Engineering (TE Operational Advantage) is dedicated to continuous improvement and operational maturity. It encompasses leadership in achieving TEOA Star Level certification, managing site-level TEOA metrics, and facilitating Kaizen events that target both soft (process, software) and hard (physical, equipment) improvements. The function also includes coaching and certifying Kaizen Facilitators, aligning with global standards and regional initiatives to foster a culture of structured excellence.

Together, these functions play a critical role in elevating TE Korea’s engineering capabilities, aligning with global digital transformation goals, and delivering customer-centric innovation.

Role Summary

The Digital & TEOA Engineering Lead is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and cross-functional coordination of digital transformation and operational excellence initiatives within TE Korea.

  • In the Digital Engineering domain, the role leads the development and implementation of regional digital strategies, cascades key AI initiatives from upper functional management, and evaluates their feasibility and improvement potential. The role organizes monthly digital engineering meetings, represents Korea in global councils, and promotes the adoption of digital platforms such as Generative Design and TELme. It also supports AI upskilling and facilitates POC activities for new engineering tools, driving community engagement and internal dissemination.
  • In the TEOA Engineering domain, the role manages Korea site-level TEOA activities, collaborates with APAC and global stakeholders, and leads efforts to achieve TEOA Star Level certification. Responsibilities include monitoring TEOA metrics, facilitating Kaizen events for engineering efficiency (both soft and hard improvements), and developing certified Kaizen Facilitators through coaching and judge engagement.

Additionally, the role supports system engineering through structured incident management as RDG/RDO administrator, leads infrastructure improvements such as R&D office renovation and data migration, and ensures alignment with corporate digital and operational standards.

Job Summary

•Represent TE Korea and collaborate with BU partners across BU, country to align multiple digital initiatives and knowledge exchange.
•Maintain, improve digital data quality/data governance metrics by actively engaging with data owners and engineering teams.
•Promote the adoption of Generative Design tools across targeted projects and engineers, ensuring integration into daily product design/development workflows to drive cost, time, and the other design optimization factors.
•Cascade key AI initiatives from upper functional management level and explore feasibility, potential areas for AI-driven improvement and application across engineering functions.
•Facilitate AI training programs, track completion rates by level, and encourage practical application of AI tools.
•Promote AI tool platform drive adoption through community engagement.
•Explore, facilitate POC(proof of concept) for new engineering tools, and promote those through community engagement. (e.g., Colab, Jupyter Notebook, MATLAB Online, Fusion 360, and other cloud-based or AI-assisted engineering environments)
•Collaborate with business unit partners across the region, BU and segment to align multiple digital initiatives and knowledge exchange.
•Develop, implement a comprehensive digital engineering roadmap tailored to regional needs and aligned with global strategy. 
•Organize, participate in regular global digital calls to monitor progress, share updates and escalate issues.
•Prepare, deliver C-level report-outs summarizing APAC digital engineering performance and strategic alignment.
•Serve as the designated responsible design group/responsible design owner administrator for Korea automotive engineering organization, managing system roles and responsibilities across multiple categories.
•Respond promptly and accurately to system/software incidents and coordinate with corporate subject matter experts to resolve complex issues and maintain system integrity.
•Lead Korea site-level TEOA engineering initiatives, focusing on achieving TEOA Star Level certification across 5 core elements.
•Monitor and manage continuous improvement metrics in alignment with global and regional targets, and report progress in Segment, BU, APAC leadership meetings and C-level reviews.
•Plan, lead, and facilitate Kaizen events aimed at improving engineering efficiency, encompassing both soft improvements (e.g., process optimization, software/tool enhancement) and hard improvements (e.g., physical layout changes, equipment upgrades).
•Coach and support Kaizen Facilitators through the certification process, including communication with judges.
•Identify and motivate new candidates to expand the facilitator pool and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Experience – 필요 업무 경험 / 경력
•5+ years in R&D, System/Software Engineering, or Project Management.
•Understanding development and design process.
•Team manager or working group leader experience preferred.
Education – 필요 학위(전공)
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electronic, Electric engineering, Mathematics, AI or Business etc.
Competencies & Skills – 필요 기술
•Fluent in English
•Strong leadership and communication skills
•Data Visualization – Tableau, Power BI, etc.
•MS Office
•2D & 3D Designing Tools – CREO, AutoCAD(ZWCAD) experience preferred.
•PLM Tools – Windchill/PDMLink experience preferred.
