SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER I
Job Overview
The Supplier Quality Engineer works as direct interface and key contact towards TE’s Supply Base. Responsible for continuous Quality Performance improvements, ensures that Suppliers fulfil VDA 6.3, IATF as well as TE specific requirements.
Besides that, this function ensures a proper communication and supports cross functional activities at our external suppliers.
Tasks Summary & Responsibilities
-Quality Key Contact and Account owner for assigned suppliers.
-Organize and Perform Suppliers Scorecard Reviews, Business Reviews, Complaint reviews and other management reviews.
-Perform D6 verification audits at suppliers
-Define and track Performance Agreements.
-Responsible for Read Across of critical quality issues within the assigned suppliers.
-Owner of Supplier Escalation Process due to Quality topics (Q:Help X, NBH, Focus Supplier Programs, etc)
-Supplier improvement – Participate in 6-Sigma projects, Kaizen events, Quality Improvement Plan activities, etc.
-Supplier Training – Provide Technical assistance and Training to suppliers when necessary to achieve the required Quality level in collaboration with SDE if needed.
-Participate / Leads Audits at suppliers (VDA 6.3, etc.) per the Annual Audit Plan. Performs VDA 6.3 Potential analysis audit when SD function is not available in the region.
-Supports IQE on Complaint Handling for the assigned suppliers (as Escalation step for IQE)
-Support Charge Back process
-Ask Suppliers to send Annual Layout Requalification based upon request.
-Supports ASQ activities if needed (e.g., R@R, PPAP etc.)
-Supports other region’s Audits / Problem Solving activities when geographically convenient.
-Contributes to Lessons Learned documents in collaboration with STE’s
Qualifications
-Demonstrated skills in a matrix environment
-Working Knowledge on specific product and process as required (e.g. Molding, Stamping, PAB/PCBA…)
-Be familiar with the tools related to supplier APQP process, include but not limit to APQP, PPAP, FMEA, CP, MSA, SPC, R@R and 8D.
-Ability to work across cultures and countries effectively.
-Thorough knowledge of Problem-Solving tools
-Process Auditor Skills mandatory
-SAP basic knowledge
Knowledge in GD&T and Advance knowledge reading technical drawings and specifications
Presentation skills
-Communication and negotiation skills
-Coaching skills
Requirements
-At least 3 years of experience within Automotive Quality
-Expert Knowledge on VDA 6.3., IATF16949, ISO 14000 and other Automotive Standards
-Certified VDA 6.3 / IATF 16949 2nd party auditor
