Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Job Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is a critical role needed to ensure high quality products are produced safely and efficiently. This highly technical individual is responsible for utilizing their knowledge, skill, and experience to handle such tasks as:
•    Evaluate tooling design and possibilities
•    Evaluate manufacturing floor needs
•    Work with processing team to enhance productivity
•    Understand product functions and design
•    Work in connection with the entire production team, and support as necessary
•    Support the safety culture
Will work closely with new product introduction teams in order to drive design for manufacturability and design for automation initiatives and projects on time and on budget.  
•    Design review for current and future tools/tooling
•    Develop new technologies as necessary
 
Activities also include participation on multi-function teams to make rapid improvements in identified processes, and to support TEOA (TE Operating Advantage).

 

Job Responsibilities

•    Tooling Improvements and enhancements
•    Print review
•    Conducts daily audits of the manufacturing processes to ensure all safety, quality, and process standards are being followed
•    Ensures that the processes run by the manufacturing team are performing at the designed efficiencies
•    Responsible for driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through the use of the TEOA tools and philosophy
•    Plays a key role in the capacity planning process and leads the implementation of new capacity when needed
•    Works closely with the launch organization on the introduction of new products
•    Ensure that an effective communication with all interested and needed parties to complete projects on time and on budget
•    Evaluate all projects for effectiveness

What your background should look like:

•    Bachelor degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business preferred. Equivalent combination of education and operational experience will be considered
•    Project leadership experience, with strong organization and project management skills
•    Demonstrated knowledge of financial terms and concepts. Knowledge of Operations Management and contemporary manufacturing/quality methods and systems
•    Knowledge of Statistical Process Control
•    Lean, Six Sigma, TPS, or DMAIC experience is strongly desired.
•    Demonstrated motivational and leadership skills.
•    Minimum five years’ experience working with a manufacturing or engineering organization required
•    Must be proficient in the English language.
