Engineering Supervisor - Cable Assembly

Job Overview

The Cable Assembly Prototype Shop Leader is responsible for planning, organizing and controlling cable assembly builds for both prototypes and low volume production.  The shop fulfils global requests from product engineering, product managers and sales teams. This role includes supervising a small group of operators, maintaining equipment and ordering required materials.

  • Able to lead a small group of people, driving urgency, and providing feedback on performance
  • Successful at influencing people outside of their direct team
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Capable of preparing and making presentations to various levels of the company
  • Skilled in communications

What your background should look like:

  • Knowledge of SAP and inventory planning
  • Able to read and understand wire harnesses drawings and terminal application specifications
  • Experience with cable assembly including knowledge of
    • Applicators and wire handling equipment
    • Wire specifications (both AWG and metric)
    • Crimp processes and control techniques
    • Terminals & connectors and their interfaces
    • New harnesses development including the use of special wire
  • Familiar with sample and prototype preparation and quality controls
  • Proficient with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English (a second language is a plus)
