As the Plating Engineering Manager of the GSO Plating Engineering team, you will oversee all aspects of engineering with the plating team, ensuring productivity, innovative solutions, smooth workflows, compliance, and continuous improvement:
Job Requirements
- Responsible for developing and leading the Plating Manufacturing Engineering team in supporting manufacturing and development initiatives
- Responsibility to make decisions related to product quality, including the disposition of non-conforming product and deviations.
- Develop and implement manufacturing engineering programs and standards to achieve manufacturing goals
- Ensures compliance to the safety quality management systems in all activities are performed.
- Proactively assure implementation and documentation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Provide guidance/instruction as to appropriate and effective data collection and analysis to promote prevention of defects and continuous improvements.
- Represent the Plating Engineering team in a variety of quality improvement areas such as cost reduction projects, Material Review Board and Lean initiatives.
- Assisting the planning and management of the department to ensure the achievement of department goals and objectives.
- Manage employee development of the direct reports in the engineering department. Tasks include but are not limited to: training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating, and appraising the performance of personnel.
- Support contract review/analysis by identifying quality requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and report on manufacturing related statistics and metrics.
- Support the Site Manager in other actions as required.

What your background should look like
- B.S degree in Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or related technical field
- 5 or more years of Engineering Management Experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge of Problem-Solving tools (8D at the minimum), DMAIC, PDCA, Ability to apply various failure analysis techniques to isolate failures down to the root cause.
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques and methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Lean) and quality tools (e.g. SPC, Capability Analysis, GRR, and FMEA, CP, PPAP, FAI, and Safe Launch).
- Ability to interface effectively internally and externally.
- Ability to communicate plans and issues with all levels of management and customers (e.g., formal quality presentations).
- Capable of project management; design and implementation of experiments/tests and problem solving in advanced technology research and development.
- Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint).
- Self-motivated, driven personality and a team player.
- Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment is highly desired
Competencies
COMPENSATION
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $120,600 – $180,900 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
- Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
