Job Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing processes for Automotive Silicone Seals across both Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) and High Consistency Rubber (HCR) operations. This role is focused on process improvement, new tool launching, capital expense execution, and automation and vision system implementation. The position works closely with production, tooling, quality, maintenance, and technicians to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process improvement activities for LSR and HCR molding operations with a focus on stability, capability, and repeatability
- Support and lead new tool launches, including trial planning, process development, readiness coordination, and production ramp-up
- Own capital expense projects related to molding equipment, automation, and vision systems, including scope definition, technical review, timing, execution, and budget control
- Troubleshoot molding and tooling issues and implement practical, data-driven corrective actions
- Collaborate with tooling resources to review and improve tool design, manufacturability, and long-term process performance
- Coordinate technicians and production support during trials, start-ups, validations, and process changes
- Drive factory-floor improvements tied to OEE, scrap reduction, cycle time, uptime, and overall process efficiency
- Create and maintain process documentation, engineering records, standards, and project updates
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methods to improve plant performance
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, with a minimum of 1 year of experience
- Hands-on knowledge of injection molding processes
- Experience or strong technical understanding of tooling design
- Ability to lead projects while also working as a hands-on individual contributor
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in an on-site manufacturing environment
What your background should look like
- Plastic Engineering preferred. Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Chemical Engineering will also be considered
- One year of engineering or manufacturing experience preferred. Relevant internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment is valuable
- Silicone molding experience, including LSR and/or HCR, is preferred
- Knowledge of ERP systems and Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred
- Experience supporting automation, simple vision systems, or related process controls is preferred
Working Style
This role combines hands-on individual contribution with project leadership. The engineer is expected to coordinate technicians, drive execution across functions, and maintain strong ownership of technical deliverables from concept through implementation.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $84,300 – $105,300 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
