Position Title: Operations Manager         

Business Unit: Aerospace, Defense & Marine/ Seacon Marine Oil & Gas  

 

Job Scope:

The Operations Manager is responsible for developing and executing the overall strategy for the production facility. TE Great Yarmouth manufactures and distributes subsea connectors, cable assemblies and harnesses into the Marine, Oil & Gas industries. The products we manufacture and sell are of the highest quality and robust construction to withstand some of the harshest environments. Our product portfolio centres around our customer needs and is regularly adapted to bespoke solutions to meet demanding specifications. We are a very low volume, high mix production facility. Our customers include Schlumberger, TechnipFMC, Proserv, Thales and Baker Hughes GE.  This production facility has a headcount of circa 62 employees. This role also has sitewide responsibility for Environment, Health and Safety.

 

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities

 

  • Provide effective leadership, coaching and guidance to the Operations team to ensure timely execution of business goals.
  • Overall responsibility for performance and P&L.
  • Prepare an annual operating plan, budget and direct all facility expenditures in line with the plan.
  • Drive improved levels of employee engagement and performance on site
  • Drive key People goals in line with strategy.
  • Provide ECE (excellent customer experience), ensuring all delivery and quality metrics are met.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement utilising lean techniques and TE tools.
  • Ensure effective operation of the plant in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that the plant is maintained in accordance with the Operational and Manufacturing procedures and best practices within the Business Unit.
  • Partner with other business functions to achieve business goals and objectives.

What your background should look like:

 

Education  

  • Degree level or equivalent experience
  • Professional Experience             
  • Experience in a global matrix environment 
  • Operations / Plant Manager experience 
  • Experience of leading a team with direct and indirect reports
  • Experience of driving a high performing culture through strengthening people leadership skills 

 

 

Knowledge & Skills    

  • Ability to network and work collaboratively with other functions in a complex global matrix organisation
  • P&L experience
