Job Overview

We are looking for a continous improvement technician to join a growing team, focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence. In this role, you’ll lead TEOA and lean initiatives, improve efficiency and quality and work hands‑on with teams to turn ideas into practical solutions. You’ll play a key part in shaping processes, supporting production and driving real visible impact on the shop floor.

Your new role:

 

  • Report and analyse TEBIT project performance against KPIs
  • Drive continuous improvement through implementation and sustainment of the TEOA programme
  • Partner with Manufacturing and external suppliers to improve efficiency, productivity and cost
  • Create and lead manufacturing improvement programmes across assembly areas
  • Define processes, standards and checks to ensure consistent deployment
  • Lead and audit lean activities including 5S, TIMWOODS, TPM and process deployment
  • Ensure production readiness by defining, documenting and training on equipment, tooling and gauges
  • Document and train best practice to support existing production, transfers and NPI
  • Support production KPI delivery through TIER meetings, problem solving and investigations
  • Enable smooth NPI integration through robust documentation of tooling and specifications
  • Maintain ERP data integrity for routed times, work centres and cost control
  • Identify and deliver method improvement and cost‑saving projects
  • Work with NPI teams to deliver right‑first‑time products using best practice
  • Update and manage TEOA boards, training matrices and Kaizen programmes
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements
  • Support wider business needs and successfully deploy TEOA, COE and Best Demonstrated Practices
 
 
 

Your ideal background:

  • Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, HND or equivalent) in mechanical, manufacturing or industrial engineering
  • Practical experience gained in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong project management skills with ability to troubleshoot production processes
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools including Kaizen, 5S, problem solving and quality methods
  • Knowledge of connector, cable or electrical assemblies and secondary operations
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft applications and ERP systems such as SAP or Sage
  • Experience creating and using work instructions, FMEA, flow diagrams and inspection plans
  • Ability to identify and implement process and technical improvements independently
  • Experience managing suppliers or external resources
  • Familiarity with CAD systems, tool and fixture design and Six Sigma or equivalent training
  • A proactive, results‑driven approach with the ability to work on own initiative
