CNC MACHINIST IV
Job Overview
TE Connectivity's CNC Machinists prepare detailed numerical control programs for use in production on numerical controlled machinery; they run the EDM, including programming, setup and operation. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.
• To set and operate first/Second operation CNC machines and support with setting and/or operating second operation machines as required ensuring parts are to the correct quality specified on the drawing and routing instructions, in line with the fundamental rules of component manufacture.
• Set-up a range of 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machine tools by installing and adjusting work holding devices, tooling, spindle liners and bar feeders.
• Operate a range of 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machine tools, ensuring that machine downtime is minimised.
• Program, Verify programs and settings using a range of measuring equipment on first articles, and apply appropriate adjustments and program modifications.
• Ensure component compliance in accordance with engineering drawings and quality procedures using a range of inspection equipment.
• Achieve the required standard times, to achieve departmental efficiency target.
• To ensure all required maintenance is carried out in accordance to TPM plan.
• To adhere to company procedures at all times.
• Adhere to TE’s core values and behaviours at all times.
• Ensure 5S is maintained across the shop to the standards required.
• Work within the team performing the various stages of production as defined by the Tyco Electronics Operating Advantage (Lean Manufacturing), Quality, Safety, Company Procedures and Industry Standards.
• To ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the appropriate company procedures.
• To have the ability to handle various tasks simultaneously and be able to adapt to changing priorities and urgencies as they arise.
• To operate machines/equipment and carry out all other activities in a safe and responsible manner and maintain a clean and tidy environment within the department.

• Advanced level of ability to read and follow engineering assembly drawings, work instructions and quality standards.
• Experience of working within an ISO9001 Quality Management System environment.
• Advanced level of ability with numeracy and literacy skills, IT skills.
• A flexible approach and a willingness to learn new skills.
