Value Stream Manager - Operations

Job Overview

Manages business performance for a Value Stream within manufacturing, in conjunction with a cross-functional support team that includes Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, H&S and NPD. Responsibilities include capacity management, achieving financial goals, setting and working to other business goals that supports the Creganna Medical / TE Business Strategy. The role will also partner with Finance, HR, Quality, TEOA, Engineering and Planning to optimize business unit performance. The successful candidate must be a demonstrated team player and people manager.

Important aspects of the role will include H&S responsibility, compliance within the business, providing development and growth opportunities for reports, supporting employee engagement initiatives, driving and supporting continuous improvement programs, introduction of new products in line with customer expectations, achievement of KPI’s, and implementation of other business improvement programs as required.

What your background should look like:

•Health and Safety - focus in line with plant objectives to ensure initiatives are successful and agreed targets are achieved. This includes accident reduction and 5S+1 program success.
•Quality - focus on complaint reduction, driving improvements in GMP compliance and implementing a culture of right first time and problem solving.
•Service – meet customer expectations through supplying product on time, understanding customer needs and creating opportunities for Exceptional Customer Experience (ECE) where possible.
•Continuous Improvement - drive and implement projects and programs that deliver productivity improvements annually in line with budget (efficiency / unit cost / COPQ).
•TEOA – lead and support the program to achieve the star ratings through implementation of tools through the business, and drive performance improvements through the use of these tools. 
•People - Ensure staff selection and hiring meets business needs, performance management and employee reviews, carry out frequent 1:1 with direct reports, development and succession planning to ensure that a level of consistency is achieved and maintained in these areas. 
•KPI’s - management of the business area using the KPI’s to meet and improve performance in output, efficiency and cost goals. To include reporting and analysis of weekly / monthly performance. Escalation of issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution and achievement of production plans.
•Lead plant communications for Business Unit in line with communications process.
•Support the S&OP and budgeting process, ensuring capacity is in place and costs are aligned with budget.
•NPD support and integration into the business to ensure we meet both plant and customer expectations and milestones.
•Put plans in place to support line ramps or changes, drive recovery plans, support other medical sites where necessary, and report out as required to site leadership on key issues or programs that fall within the area of responsibility.
•Other key business responsibilities as needed.
