Job Overview

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be a key member of the Medical Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Global Finance team responsible for providing financial and analytical support for the Medical business. This is a global role that will interact directly with finance and senior management across all of our Product Business Units and manufacturing locations. The successful candidate must be able to achieve results through influence and maintain good working relationships across multiple time zones and cultures. This role will be a springboard to future career progression opportunities in the Medical Team and the right candidate must be motivated continue their career progression, learn on the job and challenge themselves to step outside of their comfort zone.  


Key to success will be your ability to work with a large number of stakeholders, volumes of data from multiple sources to produce clear financial commentary and insight, prioritize efficiently and thrive under pressure.


Location :Galway Ireland. (Hybrid Available)


  • Lead & coordinate insights into global Medical P&L explaining key drivers of financial results and variances while promoting alignment and accountability to financial targets across our Operations and Product Business Unit Teams. 
  • Be the internal voice of Medical Finance ensuring stakeholder alignment to the requirements and deadlines of the global Medical finance function.  
  • Key contributor in redefining FP&A as the spine of the financial organization – process map & implement efficiencies for key FP&A processes, clearly defining SIPOC (suppliers, inputs, processes, outputs & customers) and leading change management programs.
  • Liaise with Corporate, Global and Regional controlling teams to ensure compliance of Medical Financial results with global financial policies and controls. 
  • Redesign and optimize financial reporting using lean methodologies to support functional excellence for operations and product line finance to drive a clear distinction between cost and margin accountability.
  • Key contributor in shaping the future of the global analytics strategy for Medical leveraging our expert software development teams located in global centers of excellence in India and Poland.
  • Participate in M&A activity, prepare deal models for newly acquired targets and liaise with business leadership to establish performance measurement vs. deal models
  • Partner with other finance/non-finance functions to maintain monthly/quarterly summary files tracking ongoing and planned projects in the Medical BU. 
  • Develop strong relationships with business leaders.
  • Assist with ad hoc strategic and operational projects as required.

What your background should look like:

  • Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • 5+ years’ experience in a global financial analytics role
  • Ability to interact effectively and influence decision making with all levels of the organization 
  • Able to picture “simple” solutions to complex business scenarios involving multiple systems and accounting disciplines across multiple regions
  • Ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner and relate to colleagues at all levels and in all locations
  • Open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations
  • Extensive and exceptional MS Excel knowledge and experience 
  • Team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a focus on business impact
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrated ability to multi-task and shift priorities quickly
  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance preferred)
