Job Overview
Working within the core maintenance group, and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician must be motivated to play a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly. The role partners closely with Production, Quality, EHS, and Facilities to minimise downtime and optimise asset uptime while driving improvements that improve productivity and efficiency. The Maintenance Technician will have the ability to trouble shoot Controls/ Electrical and Mechanical equipment problems, maintain equipment to a high standard and manage maintenance activities including documentation and external contractors. This is a highly flexible and hands on role that will expose the successful applicant to a broad range of equipment maintenance related tasks.
Job Requirements

- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance activities on production equipment and plant machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair Controls and Automation related equipment issues
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults in a timely manner.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
- Assist with installation, commissioning and validation of new equipment and production lines.
- Support production teams in achieving output and quality targets by minimising equipment downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed in accordance with GMP, health & safety and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using maintenance management systems (CMMS) where applicable.
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when required for servicing and repair activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and reliability initiatives.
- Support spare parts management and ensure critical stock levels are maintained.
- Address safety concerns that relate to the maintenance function.

Key Requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Excellent understanding of Automation and controls.
- Strong Mechanical and Electrical knowledge.
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to support shift or call-out requirements as required.
- Experience working with automated equipment would be required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take ownership of equipment issues.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
- Comfortable using Hand and Power tools, and maintenance systems
- Basic PC skills and experience using maintenance management systems would be an advantage.
- Proven track record of excellent time keeping, flexibility & attendance is essential.
- Experience of machine building and troubleshooting.
- Must be able to plan, organize, and execute concurrent tasks.
- Knowledge of ISO & FDA compliance.
What your background should look like
- Trade qualification or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or Maintenance Engineering or equivalent experience preferred. (Level 6 Requirement)
- Preferably a minimum of 5 years previous experience in a Manufacturing or Industrial Maintenance environment.
