The Line Leader will report to the area supervisor. They will have production responsibility for the running of the area and maintain the production metrics on an hourly/shift basis. The expectation of the zone leads time will be working in the area as a working leader, covering for absence or holidays and maintain the efficient and safe running of the area.

Job Responsibilities
- This role involves working on the line as a primary function, up to 80% of working time.Work with Production Supervisor to ensure staff in place to ensure customer demand and the production schedules are met on a daily basis.
- Lead required Go / Tier 1 meetings at start of each shift.
- Complete shift hand over meeting with other line coordinators.
- Support Supervisor in completing the training matrix, highlighting cross-training gaps and recommending training plans for the line.
- Act as first point of escalation for line issues and if necessary escalate to engineering, quality and area supervisor. Work to resolve issues quickly to limit impact to the line.
- Work closely with support teams such as Quality and Engineering Technicians, and when necessary with Engineering, Supervisor, Quality and Materials / Warehouse to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Observe, maintain, coordinate and complete standard work.
- Update production metrics through the shift to ensure and facilitate timely updates and identify deviations to plan.
- Identify and highlight continuous improvement opportunities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions and to ensure zero lost time accidents.
- Participate / input to operator appraisal process.
- From time to time may be required to participate in other projects and improvement activities.
- Be the point of contact for area in the absence of the supervisor.
- Lead and work in a safe manner that is compliant to company health and safety policies and procedures.
- SAP expert for the line and first point of contact for SAP issues.
What your background should look like:
Qualifications
- HETAC Level 6 or Level 7 in a relevant discipline an advantage
- Leadership or supervisory experience is an advantage.
- Experience in problem-solving and using Lean tools.
Key Requirements
- Proficient in MS office applications. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) an advantage.
- The ability to work effectively within teams and able to work on your own initiative.
- Sound decision making and organizational skills.
- Self-starter with good motivational and inter-personal skills.
- Strong communication skills required.
- Flexible and willing to work within changing priorities and promote change.
- Ability to effectively manage a simultaneous range of diverse activities.
