Job Overview


Job Title: Global HR Business Partner 

The Medical business is looking for a Global HR Business Partner, reporting into Global Head of HR for the Medical Business Unit, based in Galway, Ireland. 

As the Global HR Business Partner you are providing strategic partnering, leadership and counsel to a designated client group within the Medical Business Unit. With a deep understanding of the business objectives you will be able to translate global and regional strategies into people goals and drive the execution into the regions in close partnership with the broader HR team.  

You are partnering closely with the relevant departmental/functional leaders and their direct reports to enable them to implement programs and processes driving organizational effectiveness, talent engagement and developing a high performing organization. 


TE's HR Business Partners implement Human Resources policies at the business unit level partnering with management to drive company-wide programs and initiatives (i.e. succession, talent acquisition, total rewards and change management). They foster partnership across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives, strategies and policies of the organization.


Job Responsibilities


  • Provide HR Business Partner support to assigned client departments to ensure business, company, and HR goals and objectives are met. 
  • For assigned client departments, drive implementation of HR strategies, including organization design, workforce planning, succession planning, organizational design, employee engagement & recognition, organizational effectiveness and change management.
  • Partner with the assigned business/functional managers to analyse and prioritize the critical business challenges faced by the organization and drive appropriate HR interventions.
  • Coach and develop managers and key talent in the organization, as well as provide overall leadership to strengthen the HR organization.
  • Define recruitment strategies, work in partnership with the recruitment hubs and advise hiring managers on staffing decisions.
  • Coordinate effectively with the HR Solutions organization and HR COEs to effectively deliver the HR services required to drive the business imperatives of the BU and/or assigned functions.
  • Translate the Medical BU Talent Strategy Map into HR practices that support the development of people capability, culture and organization. 
  • Leverage Organizational Leadership Review (OLR) and strategic succession planning outcomes/requirements to support your client groups/functional leaders. 
  • Accountable for effective planning and execution of the Performance Management process - support on-time delivery of the compensation cycle in line with TE’s pay for performance philosophy.
  • Support and drive M&A projects as required.




  • Level 8 degree in BA, Psychology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10+ years of professional working experience in HR environment.
  • Minimum 6+ years in a HRBP role with an international scope and coverage.


Key Requirements


  • Deep knowledge and experience in Org design, Org effectiveness and Strategic Workforce Planning with proven track record of managing and leading global and transformational projects.
  • Proven success track in Human Resources in manufacturing organizations.
  • Strategic mindset combined with strong execution skills.
  • Demonstrated influencing skills with ability to successfully manage key stakeholders across multiple countries and mobilize teams of people.
  • Strong presentation skills – concept and execution.    
  • Proven experience driving integration process for M&A’s.
  • Organization Design, Change Leadership, Talent Management and Organizational Development experience.
  • Fluent in English - both written and spoken. Any additional language is a plus. 
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
