FP&A Analyst - 9 month contract

Job Overview

This FP&A Analyst role is cover for a maternity leave absence. In this role, the candidate will work cross-functionally with the Selling, General & Administration functions to manage ~$50M cost base through analytics, reporting and forecasting. The candidate will also be responsible for leveraging existing reporting tools to provide detail on Engineering spend to relevant stakeholders and driving standardization of reporting across all aspects of Operating Expenditure. The company is looking for an analytically minded candidate who has an affinity for financial control and interpreting large financial data sets with a strong attention and passion for detail. The role will also use Excel to help translate raw data and automate various processes. Supported by internal learning opportunities, this role has plenty of scope for growth and progression as the business grows. 


TE Connectivity's Financial Planning & Analysis Teams develop, interpret and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control. They perform technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. They gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts. The Financial Planning & Analysis Teams also perform economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Budgeting/forecasting for $50M cost base
  • Driving standardization of global cost center reporting across the Medical BU
  • Partner with cross functional teams to manage headcount, commissions, and discretionary spend
  • Analyze significant variances from planned results to drive recommendations to Business Partners/functional leads
  • Incentive Plan financial management
  • Create continuous improvement opportunities utilizing financial tools for reporting/forecasting and automate manual processes

What your background should look like:


  • Level 8 in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
  • Preferably 3+ years experience in a high-volume demanding production environment


Key Requirements 

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to think on your feet and deal with multiple stakeholders 
  • Team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, humility and a focus on business impact
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure, tight deadlines and sometime ambiguity
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrated ability to multi-task and shift priorities quickly
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong Excel skills highly preferred with demonstrated data analytics
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with TE data sources preferred (TED2.0, SAP Projects, Hyperion)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities/ stakeholders
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, deadline focused large company environment
