Material Handler (2nd shift 4P-1A)

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Material Handler Teams perform the physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. They unpack and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintain records of received goods and reject unsatisfactory items. They lift heavy items and may operate a forklift. Material Handlers prepare and maintain records of shipments, post weights and shipping charges and prepare goods for final shipment. They examine, stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines and may prepare kitting packages for assembly production.

 

We are now hiring a Material Handler / Order Picker at our plant in Fuquay-Varina, NC from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am, Monday through Friday. This is an hourly position eligible for overtime and shift premium. 

 

The Material Handler's typical day may include:

  • Pull orders from stores products in accordance with specifications on sales order forms or tablet.
  • Operate powered lifting equipment (order picker).
  • Identifies, transports, packs, remove and disposes raw material, packaging components or finished goods.
  • Material movement within the warehouse and production areas
  • Follows work orders, process and procedures to release materials, proceed with material movements or proper allocation/ cycle count of components.
  • Comply with 5s and KPI's on delivery and execution
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Compensation Data

$16-18 per hour depending on experience, plus 9% shift premium

What your background should look like:

  • HS Diploma/GED or equivalent experience. 
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a warehouse/production environment. 
  • Forklift experience is required.
  • Inventory control and cycle count experience is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to lift and sort packages at 40 pounds.
  • Familiar with a scan gun.
  • Self-motivation - be able to work under pressure, be flexible, reliable and able to deliver results according to specific targets in direct support of departmental goals and objectives.
