Job Overview

We are looking for a Demand Planner in Fuquay Varina, NC to join TE Connectivity, a global industrial technology leader creating a safer, sustainable, productive and connected future. The Demand Planner is responsible for the forecasting activities associated with developing, maintaining and improving the operational forecast at multiple hierarchy levels over the planning horizon for their assigned GPLs, segments, and regions.  This position will work closely with sales, product management, and operations to model demand plans, address problem items and help improve order fulfillment, reduce excess, slow moving, and obsolete inventories, and support current and future supply chain initiatives through active demand management.


Day to day duties will include but not limited to:

  • Actively manage and maintain the statistical forecast and total requirements in SAP/IBP to develop a robust demand plan (operational forecasts) at multiple hierarchy levels across the planning horizon.
  • Proactively apply analytical and statistical techniques to review historical sales patterns to anticipate and adjust the demand forecast to stay ahead of developing and changing trends.
  • Collaborate with sales and product management to research and understand demand forecast drivers to ensure that current and accurate information is used to develop the demand forecast.
  • Lead bias and problematic item reviews to adjust and correct items with systemic forecast errors.
  • Develop and present forecast accuracy performance reports identifying problem drivers and corrective actions to improve the forecast.
  • Support all monthly S&OP activities as needed to help create a best-in-class S&OP planning process.
  • Support the Demand Manager in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product replacements and phase-outs.
  • Take initiative and strive to consistently improve monthly forecast accuracy performance.

What your background should look like:

  • BA/BS college degree required with at least 2-3 years’ experience in demand planning, master scheduling, production / supply planning, operations, or finance fields.
  • Demonstratable understanding of forecasting and forecasting statistical methods. 
  • Experience with SAP/IBP, ForecastPro, or similar forecasting tools is highly desirable. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is very important.
  • Familiarity with JDA, Business Objects or other data reporting program.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and decision-making skills are essential. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills to lead cross functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently to manage multiple projects and initiatives to meet established timelines.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated to identify problems and take initiative to make corrective actions.
