MFG & PROCESS DVL ENGINEER II

Job Overview

Integrated Systems Group (ISG) is part of the Aerospace Defense and Marine business (AD&M) within TE’s industrial business segment, supplying customers with electronic components that include ruggedized electronic interconnect solutions. 

The ISG Development Engineering team is looking for a motivated and experienced R&D Product Development Engineer to work in our ISG Wire & Cable business. TE Connectivity’s Wire & Cable Development Engineering Team manages a wide variety of Wire & Cable products, including providing engineering expertise for sustaining product lines and developing new products for the global marketplace. The team works closely on projects across a variety of functional teams; working together with Product Management, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales and Finance to provide technical engineering support and analysis, and ensuring quality, cost and schedule commitments are upheld to our customers. 

Responsibilities

•    Participate in the development of new and innovative technologies and translate them into full scale production. 
•    Participate in specific development activities as part of a larger development project by organizing and conducting design of experiments, manufacturing trials, testing, and process capability studies. 
•    Influence design parameters through close communication with lead development engineers and the production engineering team, utilizing Design for Manufacturing (DFM / DFMA) principles.
•    Work closely with Operations Team to effectively transfer new products from development to production.
•    Define specifications and key requirements to develop and commission new or upgraded production equipment and tooling.
•    Manage and prioritize multiple development engineering projects to ensure key milestones are achieved.
•    Participate as part of a core team member in NPD projects, with focus on the Validation and Industrialization of new products. 
•    Participate in continuous improvement activities (Kaizen events, etc). 
•    Utilize data collection tools and SPC analysis to ensure a robust process capability of new product introductions.
•    Ensure new product introductions achieve acceptable cost and yield targets for scale up into Production
•    Develop detailed processing procedures, standard work, and technical reports on the process capabilities of new products and present to project team and local site leadership.
•    Work closely with lead engineers to identify growth area opportunities, specifically with regards to High Speed Copper, High Voltage, and new product development in the Aerospace, Defense and Marine Industries. 

Qualifications

•    B.S/M.S. Degree in Engineering or Engineering related filed. B.S./M.S. Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred
•    At least 2-5 years of experience in Manufacturing or Process Engineering field with related work experience with integrating new products into Production environment.
•    Practical experience in applying LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies.
•    Ability to understand and work out complex technical solutions, including providing root-cause analysis.
•    Ability to communicate, listen, and guide cross-functional teams to drive the product development process. 
•    A curious, motivated and proactive person who enjoys working independently as well as in a team
•    Working knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA principles 
•    Prior experience working in the Aerospace and/or Wire & Cable Industry is a plus  
•    Ability to travel, if required.
•    US Citizen or Perm Legal Resident Required.
