Continuous Improvement Analyst

Job Overview

The continuous improvement analyst will observe current and reflect on possible future processes, looking for ways to improve them by refining and clarifying operator instructions, changing layouts of areas, performing time studies and line balancing, measuring operator performance and output, developing visual management, and much more.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate resources to drive improvements through proper problem solving and project management using the various industrial engineering and TEOA methods and tools.
  • Assist in the change of systems/processes as required in support of site initiatives
  • Participate in, co-facilitate, and facilitate projects, kaizen events, and “just-do-its.”
  • Supports and leads value stream transformations teams.
  • Implement improvements through lean manufacturing methods and systems such as PIM (Process Improvement Management), 8D, visual standards, standard work, 3P, quick changeover, Kaizen etc. 
  • Be a lean leader on the shop floor. Develop other personnel around lean manufacturing, problem solving, leadership and Kaizen process to further drive the TEOA improvement philosophy to all levels of the organization.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established safety practices as well as actively participating in safety committee meetings.
What your background should look like:
  • 1-5 years’ experience leading teams.
  • Ability to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated change management experience, willingness to get hands on.
  • Build successful relationships across many levels in the organization supporting improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in analyzing data and process to drive financial benefits.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to influence, motivate, train, and lead employees.
Preferred but willing to teach:
  • Lean toolset (Facilitation, Problem Solving, TPM, Standard Work, Mistake Proofing, Change Management)
  • Basic understanding of statistics
  • Basics of ERP/MRP (SAP) systems, Databases
  • Basics of BOMs (Bill of Materials), Routings
Bonus Skills:
  • Analytical Tools such as Minitab / Tableau
  • SharePoint, SQL, Microsoft Power BI
  • Six Sigma or Lean Certification
  • Diagramming such as Visio, Lucid Chart, Illustrator, OmniGraffle
