Job Overview

Work with Shipping and Receiving team members, plant management, Purchasing, Customer Service and Sales Departments as well as other areas to fulfill shipping requirements within the facility. Ensure that products are processed efficiently for shipment, use within the plant, or within inventory stock for resale to customers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process UPS and FedEx shipments through Business Central, UPS World Ship and other third-party logistics suppliers.
  • Follow company guidelines to select the most efficient and cost effective way to ship all packages.
  • Complete all paperwork and ensure accuracy of orders to ship.
  • Pick and pack shipping orders.
  • Maintain inventory on packing and shipping supplies by daily cycle counting.
  • Ensure that stock shelves are maintained properly and well organized.
  • Review daily reports with Manager to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping/receiving schedules.
  • Expedite required quick turnaround orders by customers and Inside Sales.
  • Coordinate products from Receiving to work cells and from work cells to Shipping.
  • Communicate with the Manager on all issues related to discrepancies on shipments and receipts.
  • Assist with packaging needs when necessary to help with production needs – specifically Ground Orders.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

What your background should look like

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a shipping clerk with inventory control knowledge is preferred.
  • Hand tool use and knowlege is required.
  • Experience with building pallets and/or crates is highly preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of basic computer functions.
  • Basic math skills for weight calculations and inventory counts.
  • Ability to work with little supervision after training.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Continuous standing, moving and reaching with arms and hand.
  • Frequently walks, bends, lifts and carries items.
  • Periodically going up and down ladders.
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.

 

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in a shop environment.
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, and odors.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $30,000  –  44,900 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
