Job Overview

TE Connectivity R&D Engineering teams conceive original ideas for technologies and products and introduce them into practice.  To release and maintain these products in the market, they must be evaluated and tested by regulatory agencies, such as UL, IEEE, IEC, and TÜV to verify compliance to the safety standards for the region.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Agency Certification / Standards Engineer to join our Energy Business Unit. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing certification documents with various agencies and supporting the development of regional and international standards. This position requires a strategic thinker who can drive standards in a direction that aligns with our company's strategies and product roadmaps

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage certification documents and budget with agencies such as UL, Dekra, VDE, TUV, and others to ensure compliance and timely approvals.
  • Actively participate in standards committees and working groups to influence standards development in alignment with company strategies.
  • Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams to develop, support, and implement comprehensive changes in product standards
  • Stay up-to-date with regional and international standards developments across the energy sector.
  • Analyze proposed standards and assess their impact on current and future product lines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in standards organizations and certification agencies.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams regarding certification requirements and standards compliance.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to standards and certification processes.
  • Support product development teams in implementing standards-compliant designs.
  • Provides technical leadership to the engineering and product management teams on the standard requirements for products and technologies
  • Negotiate product evaluation and testing plans with agency partners
  • Assesses technical and compliance risk of products to agency requirements
  • Actively participate in standard development activities and committees to aid in aligning standards with TE Connectivity Energy product and technology pla

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline
  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in mechanical and / or electrical engineering related position
  • Experience with medium- and high-voltage products and the industrial, utility, and renewable markets
  • In-depth knowledge of UL, Dekra, TUV, IEEE, and other relevant certification processes
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across different departments
  • Experience in developing and industrializing electrical and electronic technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand technical standard requirements applicable to the energy industry, and educate others on proper interpretation
  • Possesses high degree of initiative, technical competence, engineering process knowledge and strong communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Project management experience

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $141,500 - $212,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
