Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.


The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing leads all regional Amercian procurement efforts for the Energy BU. The incumbent is responsible to efficiently and effectiviely enable spend owners such as the regions and functional partners (PM,Eng, Ops) to maximize the value they receive from suppliers to meet their objectives. The incumbent will work with Buyers to lead centralized direct and indirect sourcing and procurement efforts. This will include working with the internal stakeholder from initial need identification to final goods or serivice delivery to meet stakeholder needs.


Primary Responsbilities:



  • Value creation with a world class supply base
  • Define develop and implement Amercias Procurement Sourcing Strategies in order to meet productivity and achieve optimal supplier performances
  • Define, develop and maintain Procurement strategic plans, implementing measurement systems and metrics to measure supply base
  • Lead and ensure development and execution of Americas Procurement sourcing strategies
  • Drive Supply Base assessment in order to insure correct benchmarking, evaluation and selection, in compliance with relevant established policies, criteria and performance targets.
  • Lead outsourcing / Insourcing initiatives
  • Define, develop and maintain supplier relationships and analyze industry trends by commodity for development of optimal sourcing strategies
  • Team management & development
  • Responsible for regional budget & P&L management

What your background should look like:


  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Experience in commodity management ( direct procurement) REQUIRED
  • 7+ years of experience managing sourcing projects and prioritizing multiple key activities in strategic/direct purchasing
  • 3-5+ years experience in managing teams
  • Strong business acumen as well as analytical abilities to assess complex data
  • Experience in cost analysis & price breakdowns
  • Supplier Management & Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong sense of intuition and ability to anticipate outcomes of actions, variables and decisions
  • Ability to influence with & without direct authority
  • Critical thinking and curiosity
  • Strong potential and willingness to grow within Procurement organization
  • Team Player
