Job Overview

 

Project Management Lead (PMO Lead) is a global partner managing a team of project managers that drive the execution of new product development (NPD). Creates an environment of predictable, timely, cost effective project execution, using the LEANPD process. The PMO Lead is also the Engineering Global Process Owner for the BU. The PMO Lead has excellent communication skills with the ability to present accurately and clearly to all levels of the organization. Responsible for achieving NPD goals across the global portfolio.  

 

The PMO is tasked with driving execution without direct control, holding team members accountable for project deliverables, and managing stakeholders. Driven to achieving projects goals through risk mitigation, within a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

 

  • Leads the development and implementation of project management processes, methods, tools, and standards that supports all project teams and stakeholders to successfully deliver project objectives
  • Directs global projects through project managers in the PMO
  • Proactively works with all functions in managing resources and tasks for the projects
  • Manages risk and mitigation across the global project portfolio
  • Defines and Drives PMO best practices, including data integrity
  • Interacts with executives and functional managers
  • Provides regular health checks of the portfolio and KPIs to all stakeholders          
  • Responsible for enabling and mentoring a high performing team which will deliver on business vision and financial objectives
  • Represents the BU in the PMO Center of Excellence, the Engineering Analytics Community, and the Engineering Excellence Committee
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in PMO, as TEOA Practitioner
  • Negotiates tradeoffs and manages risk to achieve project goals and outcomes.
  • Overall Responsibility for planning, staffing, budgeting and managing expenses of the PMO
  • Engineering Process Owner for the BU

What your background should look like:

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s and/or graduate degree in Engineering, Science or Business.
  • Formal project management education and/or PMP/PgMP Certification

 

EXPERIENCE          

  • Has 5+ Years of experience managing global project/program with supervisory experience
  • At least 3 - 5 years experience in mechanical and / or electrical engineering related positions
  • At least 3 - 5 years experience in TE related industries such as Energy, Utilities and Industrial markets.
  • At least 3 - 5 years experience with medium and / or high voltage products such as insulators, arrestors and cable accessories.
