MAINTENANCE MECHANIC I

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Maintenance Mechanic I to join our maintenance team. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals starting their career in industrial or facility maintenance. Under direct supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic I assists with routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment, systems, and the facility to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Job Requirements

•    Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks on equipment and building systems (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, etc.).
•    Help troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
•    Support the preventive maintenance schedule, including lubrication, filter changes, and visual inspections.
•    Respond to maintenance work orders and document completed tasks.
•    Assist with facility upkeep including minor carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
•    Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
•    Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
•    Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
•    Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about equipment issues or parts needed.

What your background should look like

•    High school diploma or GED required.
•    Basic mechanical aptitude or relevant coursework (e.g., trade school, technical training) preferred.
•    0–2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field (internship or vocational experience counts).
•    Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
•    Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
•    Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and tools.
•    Good communication and teamwork skills.
•    Physical ability to stand, lift, climb ladders, and work in various conditions (hot, cold, noisy).

Preferred Skills (Not Required):
•    Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
•    Basic understanding of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
•    Experience in an industrial, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:
•    Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
•    Ability to work in a variety of environments including heights, confined spaces, and outdoor areas.
