HR Business Partner

Job Overview

This role will contribute to the business and leaders by addressing people, culture, diversity, performance, and organizational needs. Reporting to the Senior Director Human Resources Energy BU, the HR Business Partner rolls out the HR strategy in line with business priorities and drives the people operating plan. She/He implements policies at the business level partnering with leaders and employees to drive business and companywide programs and initiatives including but not limited to culture & leadership development, succession planning, talent acquisition, total rewards and change management. 

This position will act as a true business partner and key player in driving excellence in a global organization. This role will serve as a strategic partner for the General Manager & VP Americas, the Americas Leadership Team (ALT) and will closely collaborate with HR Solutions Partners and HR Centers of Excellence (COE’s)

Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Executes priorities aligned with the business strategy
  • Drives organizational effectiveness, cultural transformation and owns the people operating plan
  • Provide HR leadership to meet Business goals and objectives, in partnership with the leadership team(s), the COEs and the HR Solutions Partners.  
  • Analyze trends and metrics as they apply to client groups, develop proactive actions to further support business objectives and people strategy. 
  • Lead organization design, workforce planning, organization development and organizational effectiveness within the business, including Mergers & Acquisition. 
  • Drive organizational culture towards TE values and CEO’s vision, unleash people’s potential through development & inclusion. 
  • Take a strong influencing role balanced with the needs for Business Strategy and TE Strategy, convey information to different audiences, able to deal with complex inter-relationship and navigate in a matrix organization.

 

Execution

  • Strong project management / organizational / time management skills and proven ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities
  • Coach:  Partner with the ALT to provide advice, creative problem solving and counsel on HR related business matters. 
  • Manage and ensure the cadence for HR life cycle and talent management programs for the ALT.
  • Participate in due diligence during the pre-acquisition phase and develop and execute integration plan.
  • Lead change management for the ALT and facilitate organizational change by supporting managers to develop plans to drive organizational efficiency in line with business strategy. 
  • Drive compensation planning process to ensure “Pay for Performance” guidelines are met.
  • Lead performance management process for business in efficient manner (objective setting, development planning, regular feedback conversations, calibration).
  • Manage employee relations issues to ensure legal compliance and maintain a respectful working environment for the client group.
  • Collaborate on projects on an ad-hoc basis with HR COEs and provide business input to COEs on policies/tools required. 
  • Drive and advocate for a “One-HR Operating Model” and ensure seamless execution and delivery to the business. 
  • Drive HR operational excellence through TEOA.

 

Talent

  • Proactive and courageous coach; appropriately challenges and make critical conversations happen. Act as facilitator when needed.
  • Self-driven; not afraid to ask questions and ask for help
  • Leverage Energy BU talent management processes and TE Organizational Leadership Review (OLR) and strategic succession planning to support the business.
  • Drive key talent development plans to strengthen the talent pipeline for all critical positions including stretch assignments, coaching, or mentoring programs, professional & leadership training to retain and develop talent.
