Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They conduct on-site cable prep on medium voltage cables and installation on TE’s medium voltage products and are responsible for all technical aspects of the MV jumpers for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.

Job Requirements

•    Responsible for cutting cables medium voltage and verifying lengths
•    Labeling cables to help identify each length
•    Ensuring all necessary documents are filled
•    Will work with cable prep tools and hand tools
•    Follow the installation instructions
•    Responsible for preparing cable ends
•    Installing MVCA elbows kits and lugs on ground braids
•    Assist with moving cable rack to the medium voltage lab
•    Must follow site safety protocols and wear PPE
•    Work in a team environment
•    Provide daily updates
•    Monitoring the operational quality of TE tools and equipment.
•    Troubleshooting and diagnosing any issues with the lab
•    Performing preventative maintenance, inspection, and calibration services on TE cable prep tools
•    Identifying possible defects and recommending corrective action.
•    Recommending changes to tooling or product designs to meet our customers’ application or quality requirements.
•    Working closely with all the departments involved with this project
•     Preparing and submitting complete, accurate, and timely reports related to service activities, service scheduling.
•    Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and codes of ethics.
•     Any other duties as required by the position.

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm with Saturdays as needed.

What your background should look like

High School Diploma or GED required; technical training in electrical/mechanical fields preferred

3 to 4 years of field service, electrical assembly, or medium‑voltage cable work

Hands‑on experience with cable prep tools, hand tools, crimpers, cutters, torque tools, etc.

Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and installation procedures

Experience preparing MV cable ends, installing elbows, lugs, and grounding components

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

Ability to perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and basic calibration on tools/equipment

Familiarity with safety protocols, PPE, and working in electrical or lab environments

Strong communication skills for daily updates, documentation, and team coordination

Organized, dependable, and able to work independently or in a team

Able to lift/move cable racks and tools as required

Willingness to travel or assist in lab/field setups as needed

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $53,800 – $80,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
