Business Development Manager- Energy Storage

Job Overview

TE Connectivity seeks an entrepreneurial, high impact individual to drive sales growth for TE’s Energy Storage Business in North America.  The successful candidate will independently identify, assess, architect, and close energy storage projects paired with TE’s solar and wind commercial teams 

What your background should look like:



  • Working with TE Energy’s commercial solar and wind teams, develop and close distributed energy storage projects
  • Identify and analyze value proposition and deal structure for complex storage projects including resiliency, DC coupled storage and front of meter connected storage in North America 
  • Independently assess strategic sales, marketing, partnership, and channel partner strategies for growth. 
  • Engage with EPC’s, owners, developers and any other stakeholder to expand product and service portfolio for growth opportunities 
  • Engage with senior-level and management representatives internal and external to the company. Work with TE sales channel leaders to develop actionable, measurable strategic initiatives.
  • Meet with customers, potential partners, and strategic service providers to discover new opportunities for growth.  
  • Develop presentations appropriate for executive management that communicate strategic and financial benefits of business development initiatives.
  • Engage with market participants, industry groups, and regulators to understand subject matter state-of-the-art and current industry thinking and trends.
  • Integrate partner offers where appropriate to meet business goals.
  • Financial tracking and reporting of strategy and business development efforts, regional performance, and business planning results.
  • Travel to customer sites to support ongoing projects as well as new business development 
  • Development of sales presentations, proposals, and other materials as needed to support project development efforts.


Related Experience And Educational Requirements:

  • B.S. degree and 2+ years related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
  • Preference will be given to candidates that possess technical backgrounds and have experience with energy storage 
  • Relevant experience within distributed energy generation, energy management, solar sales, energy regulatory, or similar industries
  • Experience/ability to independently, directly engage clients and close deals is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required
  • Experience managing project teams, both directly and through matrix organizations
  •  Ability to incorporates business strategy into key deliverables
  • Must be willing to travel domestically no more than 50%
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Able to work both independently and as a team.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Decision making ability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong customer service skills with focus on listening to the customer.
  • Working knowledge of engineering design, procurement, and construction practices and procedures. Multi-project execution experience.
