The Corporate Technology Center (CTC) Materials Analytical group at TE Connectivity invites applications for a Summer Intern position in Material Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or a related field of study to support and contribute to advanced material development and analysis for R&D projects. TE Connectivity is the home of well-known brands of electric and electronic components with a wide span of applications from automotive to the computer industries. The CTC Materials Analytical group plays an integral role within the company through supporting our internal customers by ensuring the quality and safety of our products through advanced analytical testing. Job Overview
We are looking for an energetic and creative intern to support ongoing innovation projects by performing hands-on work in various analytical instruments, in-depth analysis of test results, and presentation of findings. The applicant should be pursuing a MS, or Ph.D., preferably in Material Science, Polymer Science, or a similar field of study. Candidates who enjoy hands-on work in a lab environment are preferred. The ideal candidate will be an innovative thinker who learns quickly and is able to solve problems creatively while working with minimal supervision.

Throughout the 10-12 week Summer Internship Program, TE Interns receive a high touch onboarding experience to support their transition from school into the workforce. Interns come together weekly for events such as professional development workshops, executive panel discussions, networking events, plant tours, community involvement, etc. Each intern is assigned a mentor, specific to their development & interests to support them with navigating their internship. Our program has been named to Way Up’s Top 100 Internship Programs List for the past two consecutive years & over 96% of our previous interns would recommend TE’s Internship Program to a friend.
After the internship, students will have gained tangible experience to build their resume & kick start their career. All TE Interns are evaluated and considered for return internships & full-time career opportunities upon graduation.
Responsibilities
At TE Connectivity, you’ll be part of a global collaborative culture where your innovative approach and actions have the potential to transform the world of tomorrow. In this role your responsibilities are:
- Knowledgeable and hands on experience with DMA, Rotational Rheometer, TGA-GC/MS, Capillary Rheometer, DSC, FTIR, etc.
- Knowledgeable and hands on experience with polymeric materials, physical properties, material formulation, and/or processing and understanding of structure-property relationships.
- Document experiments and procedure, analyze experimental data, report findings, and communicate with internal and external customers.
You’re the kind of person we are looking for if you:
- Are currently enrolled in a program or pursuing a MS or PhD Degree in, Plastics/Polymer Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or Chemistry or related field of study.
- Are willing to conduct literature searches and perform scouting activities on technologies material formulation to be tested at the CTC labs.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
- Are authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $31.02- 53.10 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

Timeline
TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
