FIELD SALES AND APPLICATION ENGINEER II
Job Overview
The Field Sales and Application Engineering Team works intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing products and applications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product,
and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; providing inputs into detailed product specifications; technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support.
They also work closely with product management and engineering to provide customer, application and technology insights; validate product and technical roadmaps; Conduct market sensing and competitive benchmarking; develop and execute on sales pipeline objectives.
Job Requirements
• Develop and manage the opportunity pipeline to drive short- and long-term sales growth.
• Identify, engage, cultivate and drive conversion of new business with existing and prospective customers.
• Collaborate on new products from Product Definition to Production Release as required by Product Management (PM) and Engineering.
• Work closely with PM and Sales to develop and execute the strategy for customer and application penetration.
• Ensure designs meet industry and customer standards.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review, preparation, and presentation to address customer design and manufacturing requirements.
• Review, prepare, and present design proposals to customer, and provide support through prototyping, design-in, and product/process qualification.
• Collaborate with engineering to implement changes to existing products to resolve quality issues.
• Review product marketing and technical information, such as CAD models and datasheets, to support new product development and launch.
What your background should look like
• Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, with 5 years of experience in technical sales, account management, or product management
• Knowledge of Rail, Aerospace & Defense, Industrial Automation and Robotics, Control Panels, Oil & Gas, and/or Wire & Cable Harness Manufacturing industries.
• Experience in Product Development highly regarded
• Basic 2D/3D CAD skills (PTC Creo / Pro Engineer highly regarded.)
• Experience deciphering customer requirements and industry standards
• Relevant product or industry experience desired
• Flexible and can adjust to changing circumstances / thrives in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workflow and project delivery
