Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.

Job Requirements

  • Role Statement:
    This professional will support the Sales Team at the total territory of Colombia, Ecuador & Venezuela.
    Responsible to support the sales team with Field Service support and Training of all TE Product Lines line Cable Accessories, Connectors, Products for the Asset Protection of Distribution, Substation and Transmission Networks.
    Key tasks of the job:
    •    Installation Training for customers for the different Product Lines that Energy Colombia sells at the market.
    •    Work hand to hand with the Product Managers and Product Specialists to define the Bill of Materials for customer solutions in particular at the Cable Accessories area. Prepare and submit to the Product Managers and Product Specialists the draft PII’s for those solutions.
    •    To help to generate demand & specify TE products by Trainings, Presentations, Seminars, etc.
    •    To prepare and implement a consistent training plan (MVCA, Raysulate and Connectors) for end users and distributors with focus on major territories aligned with the region sales growth plans. 
    •    To Manage the training database.
    •    Support at the Commercial Bids, for the Product Definition, Tech Spec, working together with the PM’s and Product Specialists. To manage all the related to Product Certificate (RETIE) and TCA.
    •    Participation in the definition of the technical solutions in accordance with customer and product specifications and recommend actions to company or customer representative for product solutions.
    •    Be able to handle technical presentations for the different product lines.

Requirements:
•    Experience: Overall experience not less than 2 years.  
•    Degree: Electrical Engineer.
•    Foreign Language: English proficiency.
•    Skills: Capable to give technical and sales presentations / good communication. Must be capable of specifying products and discuss technically with the customer applications. 
•    Potential to grow in the organization in the future as Account Manager/ASM role.

Skill / aptitude required:
•    Demonstrated manual work ability. 
•    Knowledge of basic cable technology: handling of cables, preparation of cable elements, connecting conductors. 
•    General technical skills in understanding product installation instructions, technical drawings, and documents.
•    Friendly behaviour, having power of persuasion and ability to assert himself.
•    Being willing to travel inland and abroad. 
•    Product and Industry knowledge.
•    Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•    Straight forward, personable, active.
•    Desire to work in a growth-oriented environment.
