Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design & recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop, and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment.

They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

Job Requirements

  • As a Quality & Reliability Technician, you’ll play a key role in making sure our products meet high standards. You’ll test electrical components (like relays) to ensure they’re safe, reliable, and meet customer and government requirements.

     

    Basic Functions:

    • Running electrical, environmental, vibration, and mechanical tests on products
    • Preparing samples using hand tools and soldering equipment
    • Collecting and analyzing test data using tools like oscilloscopes and digital meters
    • Keeping test results accurate and compliant with quality standards
    • Maintaining and repairing testing equipment
    • Following all safety procedures

    You may also help prepare test reports and learn other lab functions as needed.

     

    Other Duties May Include:

    May be required to prepare and/or assist in the preparation of Test Reports
    May be required to be trained to perform other Quality and Reliability functions as needed or deemed appropriate.

      

    Hours are 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday with overtime as needed.

    This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.

Tools and Equipment used:

  • Hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)
  • Soldering equipment
  • Computerized test systems
  • Vibration and temperature testing chambers
  • Hearing protection and other safety gear

What your background should look like

  • Education/Experience:

    • 2-year technical degree (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
    • OR 3–5 years of testing experience with a high school diploma or GED
  • Skills:

    • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
    • Good soldering skills and manual dexterity
    • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions
    • Comfortable using computers and software like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently
    • Able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience with electromechanical relays
  • Familiarity with lab testing equipment and procedures
