Job Overview

As a Manager II at TE Connectivity, you will manage a regional engineering team focused on delivering innovative connectivity solutions for aerospace and defense applications. This role combines technical leadership with operational execution, ensuring successful delivery of new product development (NPD), new product introduction (NPI), and sustaining engineering projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements and business goals, while leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency. 

Job Requirements

 

  • Lead and manage a regional engineering team responsible for NPD, NPI, and sustaining engineering activities. 
  • Integrate AI-driven tools into daily workflows for design optimization, predictive analysis, and process automation. 
  • Execute engineering deliverables to meet cost, quality, and schedule targets aligned with business growth plans. 
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Operations, and Quality to translate customer needs into manufacturable, cost-effective solutions. 
  • Use AI for data-driven insights to improve project prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management. 
  • Manage project pipeline, ensuring prioritization and resource allocation for strategic initiatives. 
  • Own and implement design-for-manufacturability and continuous improvement to enhance product reliability and performance. 
  • Support manufacturing sites by resolving technical issues, implementing product/process changes, and driving corrective actions. 
  • Maintain engineering standards and validation processes to ensure compliance with TE and customer requirements. 
  • Develop and mentor engineering talent, fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and AI adoption. 

What your background should look like

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field (advanced degree preferred). 
  • 5–10 years of engineering experience, including managerial roles. 
  • Proven track record in managing NPD/NPI projects from concept to production. 
  • Strong understanding of design principles, materials, and environmental performance requirements. 
  • Experience collaborating with manufacturing operations and cross-functional teams. 
  • Solid background in project management and sustaining engineering. 
  • Familiarity with AI applications in engineering (e.g., predictive modelling, generative design, automation). 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or industrial connectivity markets preferred.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $165,000 - $220,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
